1. Copyright Policy
VTU Zone aggregates and creates educational content for the benefit of VTU students. We take copyright seriously and respond promptly to valid complaints from rights holders. This policy explains our process.
2. Respect for Intellectual Property
We expect all contributors and users to respect the intellectual property of others. Uploading, distributing or reproducing copyrighted material without permission is strictly prohibited on the platform.
3. Takedown Request Process
If you believe content on VTU Zone infringes your copyright, you can file a takedown request:
- Submit the complaint form below or email us with the required information.
- We acknowledge your request within 2 business days.
- If valid, the disputed content is removed or restricted while we investigate.
- You will be notified once the matter is resolved.
4. Required Information for a Complaint
To process a takedown request, please provide:
- Claimant name — your full legal name (or company name).
- Content URL — the exact link to the content on VTU Zone.
- Ownership proof — evidence that you own or are authorised to act for the rights holder.
- Contact details — email and (optionally) phone number for follow-up.
- A statement, in good faith, that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law.
5. Review Timeline
We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and resolve them within 7–14 business days, depending on complexity. Urgent or sensitive cases are prioritised.
6. Counter Notice Process
If your content was removed and you believe the takedown was a mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter notice. Include:
- Your full name and contact information.
- Identification of the removed content and where it appeared.
- A statement, under penalty of misrepresentation, that the removal was a mistake.
- Your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in Karnataka, India.
If we receive a valid counter notice and the original claimant does not pursue legal action, we may restore the content within a reasonable period.
7. Contributor Responsibilities
Contributors must only upload material they have created themselves or have explicit permission to share. Repeat infringers will have their accounts suspended or terminated.
